Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has expressed his contentment at St James’ Park but he confessed that Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations may determine his future. Sky Sports News recently indicated that Newcastle are among six Premier League teams that might be compelled to make player sales in order to conform with FFP regulations. Guimaraes is reportedly one of those faced with leaving if they have to take this action. The 26-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a successful season under Eddie Howe and as a result, rumoured interest from clubs such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and multiple European clubs have surfaced. When asked by Brazilian reporters about his summer plans, Guimaraes was forthright about his preference. I don’t know what can happen, we know everything about Financial Fair Play, but what I can say is that I feel happy. “Obviously it’s very nice to have your name linked with big clubs, it shows that I’m doing my job well, but I’m not worried about it at all, as I said, I’m happy at the club. I’m very happy, so let’s see what happens. “I’m not in any hurry, I’m happy, and it’s up to God, let’s see what happens.” Losing the Brazilian would be a massive blow for Newcastle, especially given his impressive count of seven goals and ten assists from 50 appearances this season. City could be on the lookout for central midfield reinforcements this summer with Kalvin Phillips looking destined to be sold by Pep Guardiola.
