It appears that many of The View ladies still have a love-hate relationship, even years after parting ways. Though she quit the show in 2021, Meghan McCain did not hold back when she saw that she may have been referenced by her former co-hosts during a recent broadcast. A clip circulating on social media appeared to show Sara Haines referencing McCain in a discussion about Dr. Fauci, though Haines makes a point of not mentioning her by name. In the clip, Haines says, “It started, I remember, here, with someone here, getting so mad about Dr. Fauci. It felt like it happened overnight. We went from a pandemic…” View co-host Joy Behar appeared confused by the reference, prompting Haines to repeat, “Someone here.” McCain reposted the clip on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and clapped back at her former colleagues. “Imagine still being shocked people didn’t want their kids masked, vaccinated with an untested vaccine or to have our families isolated in one state while other states were open for no other reason than politics,” she wrote. Her statement didn’t stop there, however. “F— Fauci,” she wrote. “These women will never quit me.” Decider reached out to The View for comment but did not hear back in time for publication. McCain has been an open critic of the daytime talk show since her sudden exit. Her seat at the Hot Table was soon filled in by Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro. Though she has since moved on to her own endeavors, McCain still regularly criticizes the broadcast and her former co-stars, and tries to catch them lying. She now hosts her own podcast, Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat, where she openly discusses her decision to leave the long-running talk show. The conservative personality maintained that she had a “miserable” experience working on The View for those four years. “For me, being on The View and being around so many people who’ve been on TV daily, for decades, I was like, I cannot live my life on camera like this anymore, because it’s bad for me. It’s bad for me emotionally,” she said. “I just felt like I could not be the kind of mother, wife, and commentator I wanted to be in that kind of a chaotic environment.” In a column published years after her exit, McCain candidly stated, “There is nothing on God’s green earth that could convince me to ever walk on to that set again.” The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
