A Disneyland employee has died after striking her head in a golf cart accident, police confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. On Wednesday, Anaheim, Calif., police, fire, and rescue personnel responded to the California Disneyland Resort regarding a traffic collision that had occurred backstage, outside of guests’ view. The employee had fallen from a moving golf cart and hit her head. She was transported to a local hospital in grave condition and succumbed to her injuries on Friday. The collision remains under investigation by Anaheim police and traffic detectives. Representatives at Disneyland Resorts did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment. The Orange County Register identified the victim as 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear, who worked in membership services at Club 33, a private dining club at Disneyland. “We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said in a statement to the outlet. “At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.” Disney theme parks vlogger Just Ask Danny also paid tribute to Lear on X, writing, “I used to work with Bonnye, and she was quite literally the kindest human who worked at the Disneyland Resort. This is truly very sad for her family and fellow cast at the Club.”
