A national swimmer and a natonal chess player, Japman Kaur Aneja, daughter of another doctor couple made the Tricity proud by scoring an all-India rank of 307 in the JEE Advanced, the results of which were declared on Sunday morning. Japman Kaur Aneja while speaking to The Indian Express stated that she wants to pursue “coding and programming” in the field of Artificial intelligence. “AI is the future and that’s why I want to puruse coding and programming. I have immense interest in the software-designing apps,”Japman said. Aneja, a resident of Sector 71 in Mohali, who would study for 12 to 14 hours a day, stated that she left her sports for two years to concentrate on her studies. She did her Class 10 from Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, and completed her Class 12 from Shree Guru Harkrishan School in Sector 38, Chandigarh. “I have been a national swimmer and a national chess player as well but to concentrate on my exams, I had to leave them altogether for two years. I had got gold for the state in swimming,” she said. Japman’s father Dr Kanwal Deep Singh specialises in plastic surgery and her mother Dr Sonia Aneja is an anaesthetic and both work at a Sector 33 hospital. Her elder brother Guntaas Singh Aneja is pursuing computer science from BITS Pilani, Goa campus. “Ours is a family of doctors but we both chose to become engineers,” she added. Would do online editing for magazines in the US. Japman stated that “she is really fond of online editing” and would do the same for “magazines in the US”. “I am really fond of the literature too so I have sent in a poetry for a magazine in the US. I would do online editing for them,” she adds.
