Taylor Swift is well known for her “girl squads,” often hitting the town with her famous friends. This week, the “Bad Blood” singer, who is on the U.K. leg of her record-breaking Eras tour, rolled into London with a revamped gaggle of besties—including a close friend of Joe Alwyn’s, her ex-boyfriend.On her night off, the 34-year-old went to the Notting Hill area of London, where she dined at the Argentine restaurant Casa Cruz, the Daily Mail reported. In attendance were some of Swift’s longtime friends: Cara Delevingne, Girls creator Lena Dunham, and sisters Este and Danielle Haim from the rock band Haim.New faces in Swift’s entourage included rocker Chrissie Hynde and Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her partner, playwright and filmmaker Martin McDonagh.Another Fleabag star in attendance was Hot Priest himself, Andrew Scott. The Ripley actor is close friends with Alwyn, whom Swift dated for six years and was rumored to be engaged to.Scott may have even inspired Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. He told Variety in May that he was in a group chat called “Tortured Man Club” with Alwyn and actor Paul Mescal.”They were about to play these tortured characters, and I had played a tortured character in Fleabag. It wasn’t about our own characteristics,” Scott told the outlet. Also at the dinner was fashion royalty—including Kate Moss, who lives nearby, and designer Stella McCartney. Swift name-dropped McCartney in her 2019 song “London Boy,” one of her odes to England’s capital.”So Long, London” appears on her latest record, and fans presume it is a breakup song about Alwyn. There are various connections between Swift and her dining buddies. For instance, Dunham used to date Jack Antonoff, Swift’s longtime collaborator. Dunham now lives in London with her husband, Luis Felber.Tuesday’s dinner date was not the only time Swift was in London recently. In late May, she visited the Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse Theatre in the West End to see Delevingne perform in Cabaret. The model recently ended her monthslong run as club singer Sally Bowles, a role made iconic by Liza Minnelli in the 1972 movie of the same name.Swift’s “squad” has also included the likes of Gigi Hadid, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively and Alana Haim. The pop star is set to make the first England stop on her Eras tour in Liverpool on June 13. Her first of three London shows is scheduled for June 21.
