After two weeks of renovations, the iconic club is set to unveil its revamped venue at a grand opening on Saturday and NightOwl Entertainment’s head of marketing strategy Nik Thompson is expecting a massive turnout. “Metropolis has been closed for 2 weeks for renovations and will re-open with a massive launch event on June 15,” Mr Thompson said. “The decision to close and renovate stems from our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence in clubbing experiences. Credit: Ven Tithing Thompson is confident the revamp is the “necessary step” the establishment needs to take to ensure it remains a “timeless institution of clubbing excellence”. “We’re still by far the largest club night in the south on a Saturday and are using that success to invest in customer experience,” he said. “We’ve rebuilt all the downstairs bars, installed 2 new booth seating areas, launched a whole new retro room, replaced the flooring and added an eye-watering lighting installation. “On top of these physical renovations, we’ve been training our staff in a new cocktail menu and developed a whole new level of stage show to augment our DJs.”Camera IconBe sure to check out the latest addition to the city’s expansive nightlife options with an exclusive look at the brand-new Metros Freo. Credit: Ven Tithing Management sought to keep the timeless grandeur the club always had. “Metropolis has an incredible history, rivalled by few, and our efforts are set to be relevant in any decade,” he said. “You’ll find that we have future-proofed the venue while still allowing it to feel familiar and comfortable.” Last week, the iconic nightclub announced on social media that it would temporarily close to undergo a major renovation, hoping to turn itself into a “super club”.
