Pieces of snake found in Bihar college food, 11 students fall ill

PATNA: A day after a Mumbai doctor found a human finger in his ice cream ordered online, students of a govt engineering college in Bihar’s Banka were horrified to discover pieces of what appeared to be a snake in their dinner served at the college mess Thursday evening.At least 11 students fell ill and were taken to a hospital, where they were treated for symptoms such as nausea, and vomiting. Civil surgeon Dr Anita Kumari told TOI that the students were now safe. From the pictures taken by the students, it “appeared like the tail of something”, she added.SDO Avinash Kumar said the administration has decided to change the food vendor, besides imposing a fine on the current one. “The college administration has also been show-caused,” he added. “The administration has made it mandatory for principal and teachers to consume food with students every day,” he added.
