And he said he has provided senior teammates with hope as the club begins to emerge from the lowest on-field ebb in its history. Reid has served a two-match suspension for a dangerous tackle and coach Adam Simpson confirmed he will return to face the Hawks in front of his home crowd this weekend. Waterman is among the first Eagles figures to express such unbridled excitement over the 19-year-old. Internally, he probably feels it a little bit, but the way he handles it when he’s at the club, I’ve got to take my hat off to him,” he said. “The way he holds himself, picking up the newspaper every day and seeing his noggin on the back page, I don’t know how that would feel, but he’s bearing it quite well.”Camera IconReid is set to return this week. Credit: Will Russell/AFL Photos Elliot Yeo’s three-year contract extension last week is regarded as a major boost to Reid’s development. “I’ve seen him quite close to Yeoy and since Yeoy has been back we’ve seen his return to near his best and he has changed our team as well,” Waterman said. “The way he has taken guys like Harley, Elijah Hewett and Reuben Ginbey under his wing, he’s helping them grow and with him signing on during the week for another few years, he is going to have such a impact on their development.” Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Email Us Copy the Link Register and have your say.
