Filmmaker Dinesh Vijan’s horror universe is reaching new heights of popularity and success at the box office. Starting with the Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Stree’ (2018), the latest film in this universe, ‘Munjya,’ is making a big splash in theatres. Now, this universe is set to expand further with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna joining the cast.
Since last year, there have been reports that Ayushmann Khurrana will join the horror universe alongside stars like Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, and Varun Dhawan. The film Ayushmann is set to appear in is titled ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar.’ Now, Ayushmann’s film has found its heroine.
Rashmika Mandanna to Appear Alongside Ayushmann Khurrana
After the success of her film ‘Animal’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna is getting many film offers and has signed many big projects. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Rashmika has been cast opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’.
A source revealed, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have been discussing ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’ for a long time, and they are planning to start shooting by the end of this year.” This will be the first time Rashmika and Ayushmann will share the screen. The report mentions that both their characters will have different and unique roles in the story. It is claimed that their characters and the story will surprise the audience.
Rashmika Mandanna Has Replaced Samantha
Last year, reports associated with ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’ suggested that popular South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was approached for the female lead role opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. However, recent news confirms that Rashmika Mandanna has been finalized for the role.
Speaking of Rashmika, she is set to appear in several major projects spanning Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. At the end of this year, she will be seen alongside Allu Arjun in ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule.’ Following this, she will star with superstar Salman Khan in ‘Sikandar.’ Additionally, she has a significant project with South star Dhanush titled ‘Kubera’.
