The family of a missing man who was sent a taunting letter about a “head without eyes” has received a devastating update. Police were unable to find any DNA on the vile handwritten note sent to Allan Bryant’s family following his disappearance, officers have confirmed. The anonymous letter was delivered to an address in Glenrothes, Fife, where the Bryant family used to live. The sick troll told the family their son is “in bits” and they would have “fun” on the hunt. A photograph of the letter has since been released showing it was written in blue marker pen. It has since been sent to Police Scotland for evidence, but Allan Snr has revealed there was little information to be gathered from it.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Allan Snr revealed: “The sick person who did this made sure they were very cautious, which makes it even more cunning and cruel. It’s not the outcome we wanted. This letter has caused so much distress to us all. It’s extremely frustrating as we hoped this person would be brought to justice.”

The letter was sent on April 23 with a stamp to the family’s former home, where other family members now live. Allan’s mum Marie has confirmed her nephew’s partner opened the letter, causing huge distress. Allan Bryant Jr was 23 when he vanished without a trace after departing Styx nightclub in Glenrothes on November 3, 2013. He left an engagement party at Leslie Golf Club in Glenrothes around midnight and entered Styx, which he was seen leaving at 2am. But he has not been seen since with the family now inundated with sick messages from trolls.

Allan Snr has said the family is now getting used to receiving the horror messages from cruel members of the public. Allan Snr said: “The sad thing is, I’m beginning to get used to these trolls now. I just don’t know how these people get away with it or why they do what they do. We are just looking for some support to find our son and the majority of people want to help but you get someone who targets you. It’s just one nightmare after another.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On 23 April, 2024, police received a report of a letter having been sent to the family of missing man Allan Bryant. Enquiries were carried out and forensic work was completed. The family of Allan were made aware and officers continue to provide them with support. Allan Bryant remains a missing person and any new information will be assessed. Officers continue to make enquiries to trace Allan and anyone with new information should call Police Scotland on 101.”
