Ozempic, one of the semaglutide drugs that helped stars like Elon Musk, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oprah lose weight, is said to suppress hunger. But James Corden said on his Sirius XM show, This Life of Mine, that Ozempic led him to a realization, “Nothing about my eating has anything to do with being hungry.”The 46-year-old The Late Late Show With James Corden host said that Ozempic “really didn’t work” for him. “All it does is make you feel not hungry,” he said, which did not address the root of his problems with food. Corden said on This Life that he struggles with binge eating and food addiction.Corden is not the first celebrity to say that the drug curbed his appetite, but didn’t stop him from eating. Tracy Morgan, for example, said on Today in August 2023 that he was able to only eat “half a bag of Doritos” when he was on the drug, but by March 2024, the 55-year-old comedian told Jimmy Fallon that he was “out-eating” Ozempic. “I’ve gained 40 pounds,” he said. Meanwhile, actor Stephen Fry said the drug had him throwing up four or five times per day.Ozempic and other semaglutides were originally developed as diabetes drugs, but were approved for weight loss by the FDA in 2021. Since then, Hollywood plastic surgeons have noticed a phenomenon they’ve dubbed “Ozempic face,” in which people who take the drug develop a hollow, sunken look in their cheeks and eyes from rapid weight loss.Scott Disick reportedly sought help from a nutritionist after fans became concerned about his rapid weight loss due to the drug. Per WebMD, other side effects can include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and hair loss. Kate Moss’s half-sister Lottie, 26, also had to be rushed to the hospital for taking too much of the drug.
