Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty, along with comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa, have been issued notices by Delhi Police. They are required to participate in an investigation concerning a Rs 500-crore fraud linked to a mobile app. The app, HIBOX, allegedly enticed users to invest with promises of high returns, according to officials on Saturday.Social Media Influencers Under ScrutinyDelhi Police revealed on Thursday that they had uncovered the scam involving HIBOX. The app reportedly attracted investors by promising significant returns. Complaints suggest that nine social media influencers and YouTubers, including Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya, promoted the app. Others named include Lakshay Choudhary, Adarsh Singh, Saurav Joshi, Abhishek Malhan, Purav Jha, Elvish Yadav, Amit, and Dilraj Singh Rawat.Rhea Chakraborty is also accused of endorsing the app. The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit has sent notices to Rhea, Bharti, and Harsh to join the probe next week. An officer involved in the investigation confirmed this development.Investigation ProgressOn Friday, summons were issued to Abhishek Malhan, Elvish Yadav, Lakshay Choudhary, and Purav Jha. However, none of them appeared for questioning. The police have received over 500 complaints alleging that numerous influencers promoted the HIBOX app. These promotions reportedly led people to invest money through the platform.The HIBOX app was launched in February 2024. It attracted investments from over 30,000 individuals. The app promised daily returns ranging from one to five per cent, translating to 30 to 90 per cent monthly.The primary suspect in this scam is Sivaram, a 30-year-old from Chennai. He has already been arrested as investigations continue.
