As excitement builds for the release of I Want to Talk, starring Abhishek Bachchan, the makers dropped the film’s first song, Dil Ghabraye, on Monday. Sung by acclaimed indie artist Taba Chake, the track marks his Bollywood debut, adding an evocative touch to the film’s soundtrack.
Expressing his gratitude, Taba Chake shared, “Creating the music for I Want to Talk has been a truly special experience. The film’s emotional core resonated deeply with me, and I wanted the music to reflect that raw, heartfelt connection.”
Director Shoojit Sircar echoed this sentiment, adding, “This song is the emotional core of I Want to Talk. Taba’s unique voice brings authenticity to the story.”
Produced by Ronnie Lahiri & Sheel Kumar, I Want to Talk is set for release on November 22, 2024. The film follows the poignant journey of Arjun, played by Abhishek Bachchan, who battles a life-altering health issue while navigating personal struggles.
The recently released trailer, available on the makers’ Instagram and YouTube channels, gives audiences a preview of the emotionally charged narrative, featuring Bachchan in a transformative role. His portrayal of Arjun is layered with vulnerability, capturing the absurdities and profound emotions of life’s daily struggles.
With a potbellied appearance and a variety of looks, Bachchan’s performance showcases an intriguing new depth, marking a bold departure from his previous roles. The storyline delves into Arjun’s preparations for a significant surgery, while he faces the complex dynamics within his family and friends. Although supported by loved ones, Arjun’s inner battles drive the narrative, creating a rich, introspective experience.
The trailer hints at a mix of drama and dark humor—signature elements of Sircar’s storytelling—as it teases Arjun’s personal revelations. Alongside Bachchan, the film boasts a talented cast, including Johny Lever, Banita Sandhu, Pearle Maaney, Jayant Kriplani, and Ahilya Bamroo.
In August this year, Shoojit opened up about the film and praised Abhishek as well. “It’s a very simple observation of life with a little smile. When I watch the film, its post-production, it brings a smile . And, I can guarantee that it is one of the finest of Abhishek Bachchan films. We always wanted to work together but we were not getting the right kind of script,” the filmmaker told PTI.
Although Shoojit had released Gulaabo Sitabo and Sardar Udham, I Want To Talk marks his first big screen release since 2018’s October, which starred Varun Dhawan and Banita in the lead. Speaking about the long breaks between the films, Shoojit said, “I make very few films and my subjects are very offbeat but it’s usually stories of everyday life that I see. Some love them and some don’t but I am okay with it. I’m thankful to those who appreciate them.”
