Tollywood films did a business of ₹1580.66 crore from its 277 releases and Tamil films (204 so far) have grossed ₹1351.35 crore. Malayalam cinema saw the release of 168 movies that contributed ₹856.03 to the box office. Telugu and Tamil cinema follow, but their collections are less than half of Hindi movies. Now, all eyes will be on the upcoming releases and whether or not the milestone of ₹10,000 crore can be reached this year.What are the big releases lined up for this year?Before 2024 concludes, three major releases can be expected to add to the box office collection. Suriya’s Kanguva, Allu Arjun ‘s Pushpa 2 and Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John are expected to mint good numbers. Pushpa 2 alone is expected to gross ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office, while Kanguva and Baby John might do good business, given the buzz surrounding them is decent.
