Hyderabad: A leading Hindi distributor disclosed that Mythri Movie Makers declined a fancy offer from Hindi distributors when they started their much-hyped ‘Pushpa The Rule’ some time ago. “Few Hindi distributors joined hands and offered to buy the sequel for Rs 900 crore after varied negotiations, but it didn’t come through,” says the source from Mumbai. “They had asked for all rights including digital, audio, satellite, and theatricals all over the world and the amount was good enough since ‘Pushpa The Rise’ collected Rs 450 crore worldwide so it was a big offer. However, the makers declined it,” he adds.

Later, Mythri Movie Makers sold Hindi dubbing rights for Rs 200 crores and audio rights alone for Rs 45 crores, and a massive deal with Netflix for digital rights and so on. “Mythri could have taken this offer because they are dealing with varied buyers on their own. Without spending time on their other projects including Bollywood films with Sunny Deol,” he informs.

With the much-hyped film slated for release in December, the makers are discussing varied deals to clinch more than Rs 1000 crores and set a new record in business deals for a Telugu film. “If Mythri sells their film for over Rs 1000 crores, then it would be the biggest business deal since the film is most-awaited and talked about in the Indian film industry,” he concludes.
