MultiChoice Talent Factory alumni, Abisola Oladimeji Aboa-ba, has been granted admission to the prestigious New York Film Academy’s 4-week filmmaking programme. Aboaba will join other talent across the globe for the filmmaking programme slat-ed for the city of Florence, in Italy. As contained in the admis-sion letter signed by the acade-my President, Michael Young, Aboaba will take on projects and receive hands-on training in filmmaking from experts in the highly creative enthronement for four weeks.

“I am delighted to inform you that you have completed all requirements and have been granted admission to the New York Film Academy’s 4-week Filmmaking program in Flor-ence, Italy. “During the past 25 years, New York Film Academy (NYFA) has worked with thousands of as-piring artists to help them realize their goals. While at NYFA, you will be immersed in a highly cre-ative environment where you will begin working on your first proj-ects on day one of the program. We look forward to watching you develop, contribute, and grow as an artist and individual,” it said.

Commenting on the admis-sion, MultiChoice West Africa Academy Director, Atinuke Baba-tunde said “We are delighted that another MTF graduate will be having this career boosting ex-perience at a renowned institu-tion such as the New York Film Academy. NYFA provides Afri-can creatives a global platform for skills sharing and exposure to best practices. We hope that he will maximize this unique oppor-tunity to further hone his skills to tell more authentic African stories.”

Since its inception in 2018, MultiChoice Talent Factory has produced more than 300 alumni through its academies in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. The programme is revolutionizing storytelling in Africa by training young filmmakers, creating paths to professional careers in the film and TV sector, and empowering African professionals to create relevant content for African au-diences. The best-performing student of each set received eight-week scholarships to the NYFA, while the second and third-best students bagged sponsored in-ternships at a local film and TV production company in South Africa and at Bollywood with Zee World.
