Bloodborne neglect is real (Sony Interactive Entertainment) The developers behind Bloodborne have commented on the prospects of a PC port, as it continues to be one of Sony’s most neglected exclusives. While attention is primarily on Elden Ring’s upcoming Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion, developer FromSoftware can’t quite escape questions around the future of Bloodborne. Widely regarded as one of the best PlayStation exclusives, Bloodborne has received very little TLC since it was released on the PlayStation 4 in 2015. The load times are improved when it’s running on a PS5, but many have cried out for a dedicated remaster or patch to improve its overall presentation. After commenting on the prospect of a remake, FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has now responded to the calls for a PC version. ‘I know for a fact these guys want a Bloodborne PC port,’ Miyazaki told PC Gamer, referring to FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao and interpreter Bobby Simpson. ‘If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well. But it’s nothing I’m opposed to.’ While his hesitation is presumably not to anger overlords at Sony, Miyazaki goes onto express how he would ‘love’ to see more players have access to the title. ‘Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I’d love more players to be able to enjoy it,’ he added. ‘Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware – I think any game like that, it’d be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past. So as far as I’m concerned, that’s definitely not something I’d be opposed to.’ FromSoftware don’t own the rights to Bloodborne, so any moves on a PC port is down to Sony itself. While Sony has released a slew of PC ports for PlayStation exclusives in recent years, including Ghost Of Tsushima, Bloodborne has criminally remained on the sidelines. FromSoftware is currently gearing up to release Elden Ring expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree, which comes out on June 21. The studio is believed to be working on an unannounced project but, sadly, there’s no indication that it has anything to do with Bloodborne. Considering Elden Ring has now shipped 25 million copies worldwide, it’s perhaps more likely that game will get a sequel over anything else.
