Anyone bored of watching the same old live TV might want to check out a lesser-known app that’s available on devices including Amazon’s popular Fire TV Sticks. It’s called Fawesome and it offers instant access to over 100,000 movies which are all totally free to watch. There’s no sign-up page, you don’t have to hand over your email address and Fawesome won’t ask for any credit card details. Once it’s downloaded, you simply scroll the through the vast library of movies and tap to watch – it’s as easy as that. There’s films to suit all tastes with Fawesome featuring genres such as romance, comedy, horror, crime, documentary, action, Fantasy, Mystery, Thriller, Sci-fi and drama. Now, before you get too excited about cancelling your Sky Cinema subscription, it’s worth noting that Fawesome doesn’t have the very latest blockbusters from Hollywood. If you want to watch movies like Barbie and Oppenheimer you’ll need to pay – that said, there are some big names if you’re patient enough to hunt through the lists. A quick search reveals movies like The Patriot featuring Steven Seagal, Point Blank with Mickey Rourke, The World’s Greatest Dad with Robin Williams and The 51st State starring Samuel L. Jackson. There are even films starring big names like Ryan Reynolds, Martin Sheen, Brendan Fraser and Jennifer Lopez. If you have a favourite actor you can also find movies based on specific Hollywood legends. Dedicated zones can be found for stars such as Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Anthony Hopkins, Jackie Chan and Sylvester Stallone. “Watch 100,000+ Movies & TV shows across 25+ genres on Fawesome for free,” the team behind the service explained. “Instant streaming, no registration or subscription. Of course, this isn’t the only free platform available on Fire TV Sticks. Owners will also find plenty of things to watch via apps including Amazon’s own Freevee service plus there’s Plex, Peacock and Pluto TV to name a few. To help pay their way. All of these services feature adverts in between shows but if you don’t mind viewing sponsored messages and don’t want to fork out for expensive subscriptions to things such as Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ there’s plenty of decent content to be found without reaching for the credit card.
