George Clooney and his wife Amal were the epitome of relationship goals as they graced the red carpet at The Albies gala organised by their own Clooney Foundation for Justice. Talking to People magazine on Thursday night in New York, the 63-year-old silver fox couldn’t contain his pride, gushing: “I would support anything my wife is involved in.” He continued to heap praise on the human rights barrister, confessing: “She’s always on the right side of history, and I’m always so proud to be in the same room with her no matter what and this is an event where we get to focus all the attention on the people who don’t get enough attention.” Amal, 46, was just as supportive of her husband, lauding: “He’s an amazing advocate, and it just means so much to me to be able to do this work together and for him to help bring to life some of the stories that we’re telling tonight.” However, George found a moment to bring his trademark humour to the evening, jokingly claiming: “I’m giving her money right now, you can’t see, right behind her back.” As the power pair prepares to toast their upcoming 10th anniversary on Saturday, the ‘Oceans Eleven’ star revealed a sense of excitement about a clandestine plan up his sleeve, teasing, “I’m taking her somewhere tonight, but she doesn’t know where.” The couple expressed their pride in being part of The Albies through their foundation, aiming to “protect” those doing “incredible” work. Speaking to ‘Access Hollywood’, George said: “We’re trying to protect them, shine a spotlight on them.” He continued: “Our job is to shine a big light on the people that are doing some incredible work and try to protect them.” Amal shared her thoughts as well: “Our work has now led to dozens of people being acquitted or released from prison and every time you see that happening it’s obviously really satisfying.” She added: “We’re also working with survivors of violent conflict and sexual violence and when we see the needle moving closer to accountability and closer to survivors getting compensation, that’s obviously something we’re always going for.” Hollywood star George and Human Rights lawyer Amal first crossed paths in 2013 and tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Venice, Italy, less than a year later. In 2017, they welcomed twins Alexander and Ella Clooney, who are now six years old. George previously said on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast that he and his wife had to cut back on their work commitments to focus on raising their children.
