Back in April, the Coral Reefer Band and a slew of special guests like Paul McCartney and the Eagles paid tribute to the memory of Jimmy Buffett with an all-star blowout at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl. The concert was dubbed “Keep the Party Going” and served as a lively memorial to the “Margaritaville” singer-songwriter, who died Sept. 1, 2023, at 76. Now, Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band is taking that mantra to heart: the group of A-list musicians just announced three tour dates this summer as “A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett.” According to a post, the entire band, including members like guitarist-singer Mac McAnally and steel drummer Robert Greenidge, will all appear, along with Scotty Emerick and Will Kimbrough. “Hard to overstate how pleased we are to announce these 3 summer dates!” the band said in a post on Buffett’s official twitter. The three concerts are set for the first week of August and will play the Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach, Alabama (Aug. 1); the Cadence Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park in Atlanta (Aug. 2); and Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio (Aug. 4). Tickets for all three concerts go on sale Friday, June 14. In May, the band performed their first show without their late leader (excluding the Hollywood Bowl tribute) at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. The set list included Buffett live staples like “Son of a Son of a Sailor,” “Come Monday,” and “Fins,” along with covers by the Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, and Louisiana guitar hero Sonny Landreth, who guested.
