Article content A man was slashed in the face during an attack in Vancouver’s Granville entertainment district on Saturday night. Police encountered the assault victim near Granville and Nelson streets at about 11:30 p.m., after passersby told officers he had been acting aggressively, trying to pick fights and smacking vehicles. “As officers took the man into custody, they found him covered in blood with a large wound on his face,” said VPD Sgt. Steve Addison in a news release. The 30-year-old from Vancouver was taken to hospital for treatment. Addison said it’s believed the man was slashed across the face during a fight on Granville earlier in the evening. A suspect has not been identified, and the investigation continues. Witnesses can call the VPD non-emergency line at 604-717-3321.
