According to Billboard Boxscore’s Midyear Recap 2024, the global touring industry is thriving amid a broader trend of remarkable growth in the concert industry. The combined grosses for the Top 10 tours at the midyear mark total $1.5 billion, marking an 83 percent increase from last year’s $814.9 million at this point. This marks the first time that the top 10 tours have collectively grossed over $1 billion by midyear. The success of K-pop acts SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, and TWICE reflects the genre’s expanding global reach. These groups have successfully penetrated markets beyond Asia, including significant audiences in North America, Europe, and Latin America. Their ability to attract large crowds and generate substantial revenue indicates K-pop’s rising influence and the genre’s ability to compete with Western pop acts on an international level. SEVENTEEN: The Top K-Pop Tour Leading the charge among K-pop acts is SEVENTEEN, whose ‘FOLLOW’ and its encore leg, the ‘FOLLOW’ AGAIN tour, which has performed across Asia, stand as the highest-grossing K-pop tour of the year so far. With 552,000 fans attending their concerts and a $67.5 million gross from 18 shows, SEVENTEEN has earned the 16th spot overall in the midyear ranking. The feat also makes the 13-member boy band the highest-ranking Asian act.
