Taylor Swift’s former assistant has opened up on what it’s like to work with the icon as she admitted it takes a while for the pop icon “to let her guard down”. Heather Wirth is one of many former employees who has featured in the new Discovery+ docuseries Taylor Swift Vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, which focuses on the bitter fallout between the Grammy-winning singer and the veteran music executive. Their rivalry culminated in Scooter purchasing Taylor’s masters from her former record label, Big Machine Records, which prompted the Shake It Off singer to begin rerecording her albums to gain control over her music.
In the docuseries, which Taylor’s team has already dismissed, Heather spoke about working with the singer in 2015. She revealed the Cruel Summer hitmaker was down to earth and friendly with crew members while on her 1989 World Tour. “Taylor is very down to earth. There is no fakeness to her, everything is very genuine, very real,” Heather explained.
“There was one time where I was travelling with her on her tour and she was sitting in the back of her plane, I could hear her just throwing words together and basically in front of me, she ended up writing Ready For It,” she revealed.
Heather was working with Taylor before her feud with Kanye – and subsequently Scooter – erupted, but the former assistant confessed the singer was already introverted, and took time to trust people. “It takes a while for Taylor to let her guard down. When I worked with her, it took her a while with me. At the end of the day, Taylor is just a normal person, just like you and me.”
On her LinkedIn page, Heather states she had “the pleasure of being a Celebrity Personal Assistant to a world known #1 pop artist, Taylor Swift.” Since her employment with Taylor ended, Heather has worked with other artists as a personal assistant.
Taylor’s team have refused to be drawn on the allegations made in the docu-series, and insisted that the Anti-Hero hitmaker has “moved on” from her feud with Scooter. “Taylor has completely moved on from this saga and has turned what started out as an extreme situation into one of the most fulfilling creative endeavors of her life. None of these men will ever be able to take away from Taylor’s legacy as a songwriter, singer, director, philanthropist, and advocate for artists’ rights,” they wrote.
