In a statement yesterday, Dr Bailey, 62, said: “It has been three days since Michael left the beach to go for a walk — the longest and most unbearable days for myself and my children. The search is ongoing, and our family is so incredibly grateful to the people of Symi, the Greek authorities, and the British Consulate, who are working tirelessly to help find Michael. We will not lose hope.” Dr Bailey last saw her 67-year-old husband on the secluded St Nicholas beach on Wednesday. He had set off to walk to the town of Pedi, from where he was expected to catch a bus back to his villa in the port of Symi. More to come.
