What better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sam Smith‘s In the Lonely Hour than seeing them duet with Alicia Keys? On Thursday night, Smith celebrated a decade of their breakthrough album by bringing on Keys for a duet of the album’s biggest hit, “I’m Not the Only One.” “Thank you to Alicia Keys. This is a dream come true,” they said, per Billboard.“This is amazing,” she responded. “Can you believe we never did this before? Except for right now? That’s crazy!” Thursday night’s karaoke takeover was hosted at gay bar Julius in Greenwich Village and had iconic drag performer Lady Bunny as the emcee. “What an honour,” Smith wrote on YouTube. “Alicia Keys, you are wonderful.” The performance comes a day after Smith announced that they’ll re-release the LP with a new track called “Little Sailor” on Aug. 2. “This year marks a decade since the release of my debut album,” Smith wrote on X. “I feel so incredibly lucky to be celebrating this milestone with you. My team and I have created this beautiful anniversary edition for us all, and for the last 10 years.” “Today is only the beginning Sailors, we have so much to celebrate with you between now and August,” they added. “I can’t wait to look back on ‘In The Lonely Hour’ together.” Smith dropped In the Lonely Hour in 2014. The LP featured massive songs such as “Stay With Me,” “I’m Not the Only One,” and “Like I Can. The project earned them Grammys including Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, along with Record and Song of the Year for “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version).” Smith also launched podcast The Pink House, where they’ll interview some “revolutionary voices,” as Rolling Stone recently revealed. The interview show will feature conversations with Elliot Page, Gloria Estefan, Ben Platt, and more guests.
