Stylish shoppers have been raving about a pair of ‘flattering’ summer trousers that are great for the airport, destination wardrobe and weekend plans. Praised for their comfort and the fact they ‘feel a lot more expensive than they are’, fashion fans have been snapping them up in multiple colours ahead of their holiday plans. The trousers in question? The linen drawstring trousers from little-known ‘cool girl’ brand Arket. The retailer is owned by parent company H&M, and has a focus on minimalist, capsule wardrobe pieces that are totally timeless and on trend. Priced at £57, the trousers are designed in a pull-on style with an elasticated waistband which makes them perfect for travelling in. Crafted from 100 per cent linen, they’re lightweight and cooling, with shoppers saying they ‘iron easy’, which is ideal if you want to throw them in your suitcase. Boasting straight, full-length legs, they can be worn with sandals or heels, and feature slanted side pockets as an added bonus. The trousers are particularly popular with taller shoppers thanks to their longer leg length. They’ve racked up a 4.3 star rating out of five, with people dubbing them as ‘perfect’. One said: “I love the fit of Arket linen trousers, good if you are tall. I already have three pairs of these in different colours so knew I would like them, perfect summer classic staple to wear with a linen shirt, so comfy and airy. Hope they come out in white too as I have black and beige.” Another added: “Ideal trousers for summer. Flattering fit as although wide they fall nicely over hips. I am 5ft 7 and they are perfect length for me. I liked them so much I bought them in another colour!” “The best linen trousers ever,” hailed a third. “So comfortable and soft and the quality is spot on. I’ll definitely be buying more of these in different colours.” With a fourth commenting: “Perfect trousers that I have lived in all summer They wash well, iron easy I could not fault. Even purchased a black pair.” However, some found them to be a little too long, commenting: “Love the design and material. Unfortunately returned as they were a little longer than I would have liked.” Linen trousers are perfect for the summer months as they’re cool and comfortable to wear. Paired with some chunky dad sandals, a cami top and a pair of oversized sunglasses, they make for a laid-back weekend look or beach-ready outfit. Another tall girl-approved pair are the Cotton On drawstring straight leg trousers, from ASOS, as seen on Zara McDermott. Zara, who is 5’7”, said: “I have been looking for linen trousers that are long enough. I finally found ones that are long enough for me! Just ordered in three more colours.” Meanwhile, M&S recently dropped these must-have £39.50 Pure Linen Wide Leg Trousers. Available in a variety of lengths – short/petite, regular, or long – and a spectrum of hues from earthy beige to pristine-white, there’s a pair to suit everyone. But if it’s the on-trend Arket trousers you’ve got your eye on, you can pick up a pair here for £57.
