When Mel B teased fans with news of a Spice Girl reunion tour, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. But it seems any plans that may have been discussed has now fallen by the way side, if David Beckham’s comments are anything to go by. In a recent interview, the legendary footballer dismissed speculation of a reunion tour, insisting that Victoria is too busy with her fashion and beauty business ventures. Speaking to Variety magazine, when asked if Victoria will take to the stage again with the Spice Girls, he said: “Unfortunately, that’s not happening.” He added: “Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, the girls, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on. They will do certain things together at certain times. But Victoria’s full on with her beauty and fashion businesses. If anyone’s busier than me, it’s her.” This comes after Geri Horner, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel B reunited to celebrate Victoria 50th birthday, with a lavish party in central London back in April. And at one point in the evening, David took a video of all the women singing along to one of their hit songs. Speaking of the party and all the ladies getting together, he added: “I know it’s what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone. The fact that, obviously, we had all of the girls in one room. All of the girls haven’t been on a stage together for over 15 years. So, to have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar?” The following day after the bash, Mel sent fans into a frenzy with her Spice Girl related post. She informed fans that all the ladies, including Victoria, are planning a major tour. And this comes after she announced in her book that they will reunite on stage to celebrate their 30th anniversary. And so fans were convinced the rumours were true when she re-posted David’s video of them at Victoria’s party. She captioned the post: “About last night” and then decided to include a hashtag with the words “tour dates coming soon”. And this was further confirmed after Victoria also posted a message on her Instagram stories telling fans how much she loved her bandmates and included the hashtag “SpiceUpYourLife.” The Spice Girls last performed together in 2012. Since taking the world by storm in the nineties, the group have managed to maintain a strong bond. In her book Mel spoke of leaving her toxic relationship. She said: “I am getting better. The therapy is working. I am working on it. Someday soon I do believe things will improve. The Spice Girls will all be out there, all five of us together again – yes, I’m saying it, it will happen.” Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok,Snapchat,Instagram,Twitter,Facebook,YouTubeandThreads
