Square Enix releases behemoth list of patch notes for Final Fantasy 14 update
Square Enix has released a behemoth list of patch notes for the Final Fantasy 14 update this week, bringing a ton of changes to the game regardless of which of the many expansions you’ve invested in. Final Fantasy 14 has had a bit of a journey to get to where it’s at today, but now Square Enix has perfected the formula after the car crash that was the game’s original launch.
July sees the release of the next Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Dawntrail, which has a lot in store for players. Obviously, we’re getting new areas to explore with the addition of two new cities – Tuliyollal and Solution Nine – a handful of new field areas, and two brand new jobs. Alongside the new main scenario quest, there are side quests and role quests to boot, and a graphical update rolling out to the older expansions (pre Shadowbringers, essentially).
There are quality of life updates galore, and you can check out the updates limited to the Dawntrail expansion below. The preliminary Patch 7 notes are incredibly lengthy so we’ve picked those out so you can get the condensed version (and I use the term loosely) of what’s coming to players picking up Dawntrail.
To implement the new patch, there’s an equally lengthy Final Fantasy 14 maintenance window, lasting 48 hours. Servers went down today, Wednesday, June 26 at 10am BST / 5am EDT / 2am PDT. All being well, the Final Fantasy 14 maintenance should be over at 10am BST / 5am EDT / 2am PDT on Friday, June 28, just in time for Dawntrail early access!
You can check out the preliminary patch notes for Patch 7 below. A lot of the stuff in the patch notes is only applicable to certain Final Fantasy 14 expansions so be sure to register your expansions to your service account. They’re split across A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and – of course – the upcoming Dawntrail.
