Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jessica Lingard suggested that another cold front was on the horizon, though it would not carry as much rain as the previous system but would provide a “really nice drop of rainfall around the metro” area. “We’re probably looking at much lower falls, maybe one to four millimetres tomorrow and then maybe seven to 10 millimetres on Sunday,” she said. So we could see places like Riverside Drive getting some flooding off the river. “Riverside lanes of the Kwinana Freeway will get some water over the top of them, the boardwalk at Hillary’s, some of those coastal or riverside parks along the river may get a little bit of inundation.“Camera Icon Kwinana Freeway is likely to catch wet flashes. With the weekend’s temperatures likely to reach 21C, Ms Lingard said we shouldn’t expect the days to get much cooler anytime soon. “We do start to slowly see some cooler temperatures coming but they’re not dropping a whole heap,” she said. “We see a 19C day early next week, middle of next week, but definitely sort of still warmer than normal for this time of year. “The outlook in terms of temperatures is that it’s going to be warmer than normal, unfortunately.” After “such a dry autumn”, Ms Lingard said the consistent rain would not be enough to reverse the lack of precipitation in 2024. “But on the flip side, and I think maybe for the first time in a very long time, I’ve been able to say that the outlook is for wetter than normal conditions,” she said.
