CAROL Vorderman has issued a health update after quitting her radio show amid a health scare.

The presenter and media personality, 63, began hosting a radio show on LBC in 2023.

It comes as Carol revealed she is stepping back from this role after experiencing burnout.

However, according to The Mirror, the star has now shared an update.

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Carol said: “I’m quite fine, I had all the checks and everything, but I can’t work seven day weeks anymore, so I’m going to centre on social media a lot more in the future rather than travelling up to London all the time.”

She added: “I now switch my phone off for 12 hours a day. Like physically off. Tends to be over the night time hours.

“But it’s quite a good thing, you know when you just have it by the bed and you just reach out. I’ll just have a little look… Ahh, two hours later.”

Taking to Instagram, Carol informed fans of both her decision to exit LBC and her burnout.

“After working 7-day weeks for as long as I can remember, I finally burned out just over 2 weeks ago and I ended up overnight in hospital”, she said.

Meanwhile, Carol reassured her followers that there was nothing sinister going on, as she added: “Luckily, after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever.”

The scare, however, has made the presenter reassess her life.

She added: “So, after a proper talking to from my family and my buddies, I’ve taken the health scare as a warning sign to slow down slightly and have decided to cut my work back to weekdays for now.

“It pains me to have to do it, but I’ve decided not to carry on with my Sunday show on LBC.

Carol went on to explain how the choice to leave saddened her, as she loves the job.

She elaborated: “I’m fed up that I’ve had to make the decision, as the show’s been really lively and a total joy, with so many new callers from around the country and growing numbers of listeners.”

Despite her departure, Carol reiterated to listeners that it was not a permanent goodbye.

Remarking she would “still be part of the LBC family”, the star added she would return “from time to time.”

Carol also vowed to “continue to make a lot of mischief and call out corruption and wrongdoing.”

On the TV side, she makes appearances on the likes of Lorraine and Good Morning Britain.

In addition, she runs her own Maths business which is named The Maths Factor.

Carol also recently wrote a book about politics entitled, Now What? On A Mission To Fix Broken Britain.
