Ruth Langsford has delivered a bold message regarding her relationship status with Eamonn Holmes, despite fans fearing a split back in May. TV power couple, both age 64, sparked quite the stir in the entertainment circle when it was revealed they were parting ways after a 14-year union amid suggestions that Ruth had become weary of acting as Eamonn’s caregiver. After the news surfaced, Eamonn expressed gratitude towards his supporters on the following day; however, Ruth remained silent on the matter, including during her comeback on Loose Women where she didn’t address the separation.

Yet, in a recent Instagram update, Ruth is seen still donning her wedding band while informing followers about an upcoming meeting at the QVC shopping channel. In the picture captured within an elevator, Ruth looks chic in a white blazer and Breton-striped top complemented by black luxury sunglasses, and she added the caption: “Design meetings all afternoon @QVCUK.” This development comes as Ruth made her return to Loose Women the previous month after taking a three-month break. She greeted the audience with, “Welcome to your first Loose Women of the week, it’s great to have your company!” Her colleague Coleen Nolan remarked: “Can I just say, I am so so happy you are back,” reports the Mirror. And as the studio audience broke out in cheers welcoming her back, panelist Janet Street-Porter exclaimed: “Thank God! Thank God. I was left with her and her,” humorously indicating Coleen and Brenda Edwards. Ruth replied: “I know, I won’t do it again Janet. It’s very nice to be back with you all.”

Ruth has kept quiet about her split from Eamonn, but speculation is rife about the reasons behind their separation. Some suggest that Ruth grew weary of caring for Eamonn, who has undergone a double hip operation and finds walking difficult. At the recent TRIC Awards, Eamonn opened up to the Mirror about his health woes, saying he feels like he’s living on “borrowed time”. The TV personality, who has been dealing with severe back pain necessitating the use of an advanced wheelchair at the event, spoke openly following his father’s death at 65 from a heart attack in 1991. Eamonn has faced several health challenges in the years leading up to the announcement of his breakup with Ruth. He revealed to us that he almost decided against attending the high-profile London event, which he typically attends with Ruth, due to the intense pain he was experiencing.

Post-split, it’s understood that Eamonn is finding support from a number of female friends. The Northern Irish presenter expressed his desire to maintain a friendly relationship with Ruth, despite her silence on the matter. Best magazine reported that when questioned about the mother of his youngest child, Jack, Eamonn said, “It’s too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends.” Don’t miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond – Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
