The daughter-in-law of David Beckham is planning legal action against a dog groomer after the death of her pet. Nicola Peltz has taken on a lawyer and is planning to ‘go after the grooming company’ based in upstate New York, it was reported. Ms Peltz, 29, an actress who is married to David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn, declared on social media that every day without the chihuahua Nala “was an eternity”. Sources insisted to celebrity news website TMZ that she was not motivated by revenge – but wanted to prevent such a tragedy happening to someone else.
The groomers are said to have attended the house where Ms Peltz was staying and Nala was groomed in their van. When Ms Peltz collected the dog it was apparently ‘hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath’ and so she took it to an emergency vet. Nala died a few hours later.
Ms Peltz claimed on social media that a vet had recently assessed the dog and declared it ‘perfectly healthy’. According to TMZ’s sources, veterinary records indicated that it had fluid in its lungs, neurological problems, and a rapid heart rate just before death, though the cause of these issues remains unknown. Ms Peltz is seeking answers about Nala’s time with the groomer. There were no cameras in the grooming van. “I’m sharing this in hopes that it might prevent this from happening to other dogs,” she said on Instagram.
“1 day without Nala on earth feels like an eternity.” She added: “My heart has been shattered. I am relentlessly investigating the situation to find out exactly what happened in that groomer’s van.” Her 25-year-old husband took to social media on June 15 to announce the dog’s death. “Dear Nala, we miss you so much. You were the cutest little baby girl and we will always think of you.”
