“Having a child has brought a new part of my identity. I’m still me. I have my hobbies, my family, my friends, and my convictions, and now I have a new facet of my identity: motherhood. All the facets of my identity are reorganized to complement each other. Of course, there are some sacrifices and some changes. Motherhood has made me a better person, more loving, patient, compassionate, less judgemental, and less stressed about the small stuff. There is an unconditional love between my daughter and it makes me feel secure and confident. My relationship with my husband has also blossomed with this new step, as fatherhood has made him a better person. That said, I do NOT advocate having a kid to try to save yourself or your relationship!”
