Competitions for the first edition of the UAE Special Olympics Games for Clubs and Centers for People of Determination will begin tomorrow, Friday, which will continue until June 10, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), with the participation of more than 600 players, both male and female, in six sports: badminton, basketball, Bowling, football, e-sports, and physical strength.The official opening ceremony at the ADNEC Center will be attended by a number of Special Olympics International officials, the Regional Olympics Presidency, and officials and representatives of the participating clubs.Last period, other competitions were held within the course, which included competitions for people of determination for unified schools in football and badminton, with the participation of 400 male and female students over two days.The National Director of the UAE Special Olympics, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Talal Al Hashemi, confirmed that the committee has completed all arrangements for the event, and has provided medical personnel at the highest levels to carry out the necessary examinations for the players.He said: “The first edition of the tournament will witness the signing of many agreements with a number of sports entities, in support of people of determination during the coming period, pointing out that the crowning of the winners of the competitions will take place on a daily basis, after the conclusion of all participations.”For his part, the player of the national badminton team for the Special Olympics and the Abu Dhabi Racquet Games Club, Zayed Al Kaabi, confirmed his participation in the event, and his aspiration to achieve an achievement, after winning the title of distinguished athlete from the Abu Dhabi Racket Games Club during the last period, after being crowned with gold and bronze in the first edition of the competition.
