Celtic have reportedly reignited their interest in Dominik Livakovic by launching a €9million (£7.6m) bid to sign the Croatian goalkeeper. The champions were linked with a move for the 29-year-old last summer, only for Livakovic to leave former club Dinamo Zagreb for Fenerbahce in a €6.65m deal. But according to AS Marca in Turkey, Livakovic – who made 40 appearances in all competitions last season – is back on the Hoops’ radar. The 6ft 2′ stopper has won 54 caps for his country and narrowly missed out on winning the Golden Glove at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The report curiously emerged while Livakovic, his country’s No.1, was in action against Spain at Euro 2024. It adds that newly promoted English Premier League side Ipswich Town are also keeping tabs on the situation. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is in the market for a new shotstopper this summer after Joe Hart called it quits on his illustrious career. A whole host of names including Martin Dubravka, Peter Vindahl Jansen and Daniel Peretz have been linked with the role, with the future of Parkhead back-up keepers Scott Bain and Benji Siegrist far from certain.
