Chrissy Teigen is asking Sports Illustrated Swimsuit to “Please Please Please” consider her idea for the next cover star. While discussing her partnership with Metro by T-Mobile for its new Nada Yada Island campaign, the model, 38, told PEOPLE it would “iconic and amazing” to see hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter on the front of a future magazine.
“We’re obsessed with her music right now,” Teigen adds of the 25-year-old “Espresso” singer.

The Cravings cookbook author — who was Sports Illustrated’s Rookie of the Year in 2010 — also looked back at previous cover girls and shared who she’d like to see return for another edition. Czech model Petra Nemcova came up at the top of Teigen’s list. “When I get an email from Petra, there’s nothing like it. It’s like a poem. It’s so beautiful. She’s the most positive, aspirational person I think I’ve ever met in my entire life,” Teigen gushed of her friend, adding that she’d love to see Irina Shayk come back as well.
The publication has opened its pages to stars with a range of modeling experience. Martha Stewart made SI Swim history last year with her cover. She was 81 years old at the time that it ran, making her the oldest model to grace the front of the publication.
Still, the mom of four — who covered this year’s edition — is thinking ahead to the magazine’s next frontier: inviting men to pose for the swimsuit edition. Teigen’s pick for the first guy to appear? Justin Trudeau.
In April, Teigen was among 29 other returning stars to appear on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 60th Anniversary Legends cover, in addition to her solo cover. She was joined by Stewart, Gayle King, Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley and Winnie Harlow, among other “legendary” faces.
At the issue launch party in N.Y.C., Teigen spoke to Extra about how her daughter Luna, 8, helped out behind the camera during the 2024 photo shoot. “Luna was actually using the leaf blower on my hair…she loves seeing all this stuff ever since she was little,” Teigen said. “She loved watching me in glam, getting hair and makeup done. She puts on my shoes, everything.”
Teigen shares her four kids — Wren, 10 months, Esti, 16 months, Miles, 6, and Luna — with husband John Legend. While the former Lip Sync Battle host always appears at the height of fashion, she recently told PEOPLE she’s “very styled” and denies any credit for her haute looks. When she’s home in Los Angeles with her family, Teigen strips her style down to the essentials — and it’s always “all black, everything.” “I just wear my Lululemon leggings, my Hanro Bra and my Guest in Residence cardigan. That’s every day of my life,” Teigen said. “I don’t even have time to tie my shoes. I only get the slide-on APLs.”
