DAMATURU – The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has partnered with the Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to launch an inter-school competition, fostering unity and academic excellence among students.

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Abba Idris, represented by Permanent Secretary Bukar Aji Bukar, praised NEDC’s support, stating, “Sports play a vital role in students’ physical and social development.”

NEDC delivered sporting equipment, ensuring the event’s success. The competition, commencing October 22, 2024, in Damaturu, brings together schools from Yobe’s three geopolitical zones.

Winning teams will receive medals and trophies, encouraging healthy rivalry and teamwork. This collaborative effort underscores Yobe State’s commitment to education and youth empowerment.
