Beauty buffs looking for salon-quality hair tools to achieve hairdresser-worthy locks from the comfort of their own home are not going to want this unmissable deal at Dyson. The tech giant has slashed the price of its Supersonic hair dryer to a price that’s almost too good to be true, for a limited time of course. The Supersonic Hairdryer in the sleek Nickel/Copper Colourway is currently just £229.99 at the Dyson website, offering a considerable saving of £100 compared to the full RRP of £329.99.

To put that in perspective, it is almost a third cheaper than listings at Boots, Argos, and Currys where the hair dryer is available for full price. Those who have tried the highly sought-after tool say that it is a ‘life-changing’ gadget that cuts their hair routine from almost an hour to just 10 minutes, swearing that it’s well worth the premium price tag. The hair dryer comes with magnetic styling attachments for easy fitting and rotation during styling, including a flyaway attachment for smoothing, a Dyson styling concentrator, diffuser, gentle air attachment, and a wide-tooth comb.

What sets the device apart from competitors like Shark is that it has a small, powerful Dyson digital motor V9, which is on average six times faster than other hair dryer motors. Combined with Air Multiplier technology, it produces a high-pressure, high-velocity jet of controlled air, for fast drying and precision styling. Unlike some others, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat, in order to prevent extreme heat damage, to protect your hair’s shine.

But if you did want to consider the Shark SpeedStyle RapidGloss Finisher & High-Velocity Hair Dryer, it’s available from Boots or directly from the Shark website for £149.99. The Shark Speedstyle comes with three head attachments, the RapidGloss Finisher, QuickSmooth Brush, and the Turbo Concentrator, which is perfect for styling both straight and wavy locks. Whether you’re after voluptuous volume, perfectly shaped ends, or a blow dry that could rival any salon, both the Dyson and Shark tools are great options.

The Dyson device has racked up a 4.7-star rating at Dyson from over 25,570 reviews. One shopper said: “Life changing. Bought this a present for my fiancée, she claims it has changed her life as it now takes 10 mins from the shower to dry her hair and straighten, it used to be 45 mins.” Another added: “In the last five years, I have used the Dyson Supersonic whilst staying at various five-star hotels and back then it felt amazing. Just recently, I’ve have finally invested in the Dyson Supersonic and I can confirm this item has been a total Godsend.”

A third commented: “I bought this last month and can honestly say I would be lost without it. It is powerful, so quiet and using the attachments, gives a great result. I feel safer using it on my daughter too as I know her hair will be more protected. It dries quickly and the smoothing nozzle is a lifesaver. Thank you Dyson.” Some think that there are too many attachments for the dryer, though, writing: “Heavier than I had expected. Dries hair quickly, personify would prefer to have the attachments as ‘add on’ when purchasing as I really don’t need them all.” While others complained about the cost, commenting: “It’s a great looking product, but just a hairdryer at the end of the day. A bit overpriced In my honest opinion.”

Shoppers can pick up the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer in Nickel/Copper from Dyson for £229.99 down from £329.99. The Onyx Black/Gold Colourway is also available for full RRP. To snag the hair dryer in Blue/Blush with a complimentary presentation case head over to Boots.
