PS United FC defeated ladder leaders Sambio United FC, 3-0 to maintain their second position in the ladder in an entertaining match on Wednesday (Nov 13).
The 2024 National Youth Soccer League at the PNGFA Academy at 11 mile in Lae witnessed quite a fight put up by this youngsters to score three times and hold the competition leaders scoreless.
The first half of the game have seen PS United start off well with their first goal scored by striker Boas Tommy in the first 3 minute to lead into half time.
In the second half it was more tougher, however PS United did not back down and scored two more goals through Manu Sam in the 48th minute and Boas Tommy in the 63rd minute to define them as winners with 3-0.
Sambio tried hard but couldn’t find the net.
PS United coach Ian Erisong said the game was very tough and entertaining were able to win comfortably.
“We wanted to maintain our position in the ladder and our aim was to win the game and we did it,” he said.
“We lost to FC Morobe Wawens last weekend and we won this game so I am very happy and proud of the boys.
“We will working on our defense for the next weekend game and the end of round one. We have three more games before we go up to the first position in the ladder,” he said.
In the other matches, FC Morobe Wawens lost to Lae City Dwellers 0-3.
